When All Else Fails Take a Vacation!

Set your life on fire.  Seek those who fan your flames.

June’s end brings us the Fire Rhythm season and the energy is exciting, joyful, and vibrant!  Lots of cheerful sparkling hues of peaches, pinks, orange, and reds.  When you feel the gusto of its potency, you want to shout from the rooftops with glee!  If you are someone who has a lot of Fire traits, you enjoy being social and spontaneous because entertaining brings you the pleasure of uplifting everyone around you. Connection, romance, passion, and your hearts delight feels so good that all your cells zing with eagerness and enthusiasm.

Fire energy can be so much fun!  The energy is fast and furious, and it motivates us to get outdoors, enjoy the sunshine, connect with friends and finding exhilarating ways to enjoy ourselves. Getting our bodies to move naturally helps us to raise our endorphins, the happy hormones that bring us more joy in our lives.  The energy is effervescent, bubbly, and full of love and love heals!  Fireworks, festivals, concerts, outdoor markets, warm lakes, oceanside adventures, and pool time.  It’s like sucking jubilance” through a straw.  What a great name for a “dock time” summer drink, don’t you think?

When your Fire energies are out of balance you can experience a different kind of fire time.  I grew up with parents who used an old fashion pressure cooker.  This sealed chamber pot trapped the steam generated while it contents were heated.  If not properly monitored the unreleased pressure could cause this pot to explode, causing severe burns and other serious injuries.   Thinking of this metaphorically as an Energy Medicine practitioner, when I see these types of psychological imbalance going on with someone, I like to take a closer look at that person “Fire meridians”.  The Triple Warmer system is usually on overdrive and Circulation Sex, Small Intestine, and Heart can be actively participating or ducking for cover!  Either way lots of imbalanced energies can have you feeling the “3 A’s” - anxious, agitated, and aggravated. If it’s become a wildfire and gone too far you could be feeling torched and burnt out.

Do you find yourself feeling hypersensitive with others, like you don’t fit in the with a crowd? Do your family, friends, and coworkers just agitate you or is your love life more of a stress than a joy?  Are your children or grandchildren’s too much for you to manage because you feel like you’ve got too much on your plate?  When the Fire energy gets too ramped up and out of balance in our bodies, we begin to tense up causing the heat to get trapped, like our kitchen pressure cooker. When we start holding on to all that unexpressed “steam” we must find ways to release the pressure before it causes an explosive buildup that wreaks havoc on our hormonal system, our mental wellbeing and people who surround us in our life.  Anxiety or burnout is no fun!

Stress less and exercise more, unless you’ve burnt the candle at both ends and have no more rope to burn. Then take a summer vacation and get some well needed rest.  If you find you are more on the jittery side of things then try some of these fabulous Fire calming exercises and then go find that dock by the water, take a dip and then have a cool refreshing drink!
